Our speaker lineup showcases the brightest minds, innovators, and thought leaders in the field of endodontics.
Josette Camilleri obtained her Bachelor in Dental Surgery and Master of Philosophy in Dental Surgery from the University of Malta. She completed her doctoral degree, supervised by the late Professor Tom Pitt Ford, at Guy’s Hospital, King’s College London. She has worked at the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering, Faculty for the Built Environment, University of Malta and at the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Surgery, University of Malta, Malta. She is currently a Professor in Endodontics and Applied Materials at the School of Dentistry, College of Medical and Dental Sciences, Institute of Clinical Sciences, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom. Her research interests include endodontic materials such as root-end filling materials and root canal sealers, with particular interest in mineral trioxide aggregate; Portland cement hydration and other cementitious materials used as biomaterials and also in the construction industry.
Josette has published over 170 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and her work is cited over 15,000 times. Three of her publications on the chemistry of mineral trioxide aggregate have been placed in the top 50 most cited papers in International Endodontic Journal. In 2018, she has been awarded the Louis Grossman prize by the French Endodontic Society and is the first female recipient of this prestigious award.
She is the Chief Specialty Editor for Dental Materials in Frontiers in Dental Medicine and a senior editorial board member of Scientific Reports (Nature). She is also an associate Editor for Ceramics and Journal of Functional Biomaterials and a reviewer and a member of the scientific panels of a number of international journals. Josette is also an international lecturer. She is currently the vice-president of the Dental Materials Group of the International Society of Oral and Dental Research. She is an expert for British Standards Institution and International Standards Organization. She is the Editor of Endodontic Materials in Clinical Practice, published by Wiley and Mineral trioxide aggregate. From preparation to application and Bioceramic Materials in Clinical Endodontics published by Springer.
Dr. Gilberto Debelian has received his DMD degree from the University of São Paulo, Brasil in 1987. He has completed his specialization in Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania, USA in 1991 and received the Louis I. Grossman student award in Endodontics. He has concluded his PhD studies at the University of Oslo (UIO) in 1997, which gave him two scientific awards from the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) and from the Norwegian Dental Association. He has taught as a clinical instructor and associate professor at the endodontic program at UIO. He has served as an adjunct visiting professor at the post-graduate program in endodontics, University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill from 2006 to 2015. His is an adjunct visiting professor at the post-graduate program in endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Debelian maintains a private practice limited to endodontics in Oslo and is the director of the advanced endodontic microscopy center – ENDO INN (www.endoinn.com) in Oslo, Norway. Dr. Debelian has authored 8 chapters book in Endodontics, one book in Endodontics and written more than 80 scientific and clinical papers.
Dr. Khademi received his DDS from the University of California San Francisco and his certificate in endodontics and did his MS on digital imaging from the University of Iowa. He is in full time private practice in Durango Colorado and was Associate Clinical Professor in the Dept. of Maxillofacial Imaging at USC and is Adjunct Assistant Professor at SLU. In his “prior life”, he wrote software for laboratory automation, instrument control and digital imaging. He lectures internationally about CBCT, clinical trial design, outcomes, and conventional endodontic technique. As a Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) member for over 25 years, his background in medical radiology allows him a perspective shared by very few dental professionals. He has contributed to many sections and chapters in textbooks and is the lead author for Quintessence’s Advanced CBCT for Endodontics: Technical Considerations, Perception, and Decision-Making.
Dr Terry Walton AM, graduated Bachelor of Dental Surgery (USyd 1974), Master of Dental Science (USyd 1979) Master of Science -Prosthodontics (UMich 1981), Doctor of Dental Science (USyd 2013). Dr Walton is Professor Affiliate in Clinical Dentistry at the University of Sydney teaching graduate students. He maintains a specialist prosthodontic practice in Sydney since 1983. His research interests are clinical outcomes and corrosion at implant/abutment junctions. He has published over 30 papers in peer reviewed journals. He is a member of many Australian and international dental organisations and was the Co-President of the International College of Prosthodontists during 2000 and 2001.
Dr Kehn Yapp is an endodontist in Melbourne, Australia. He graduated from The University of Melbourne with degrees in Bachelor of Dental Science (2008) and Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics (2013). He completed a Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Sydney in 2023 on clinical history and diagnostic performance of cone beam computed tomography in endodontic disease detection.
He has lectured at several international dental and endodontic conferences in the areas of microscope team training and ergonomics, diagnostic decision making and probability theory, cognitive and perceptual factors in image interpretation and restoratively driven endodontics.
Kehn provides hands-on teaching for teams of endodontists and assistants in using the microscope efficiently, to operate together at the highest level. He enjoys travelling, cooking and skiing.
